Celsius vs Fahrenheit for Body Temperature
A simple explainer on the two temperature scales, the conversion formulas, and common values — so your body temperature log stays clear and consistent.
A simple explanation
Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) are two scales for measuring the same thing. Celsius is used in most of the world, while Fahrenheit is common in the United States. Neither is “better” for a temperature log — what matters is recording the same unit consistently, or noting the unit on each entry.
The formula
You can convert between the two scales with these formulas:
- Celsius to Fahrenheit:
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32 - Fahrenheit to Celsius:
°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
You don't have to do the math by hand — the Celsius to Fahrenheit converter does it instantly.
Common conversions
